Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore locations were renowned as treasure troves for home design professionals and amateurs alike—and those purchases of donated items are critical to funding the work HFH does in the community. However, the challenges of a volunteer- and donation-based business model were creating a fragmented in-store experience that was not making this community connection or telling the brand story effectively.
We helped Habitat for Humanity strengthen this message and its overall value proposition by redefining the essence of the ReStore experience—discovery—and linking all its “discoveries” to corresponding community support and impact. We created modules and fixtures in-store to highlight renovation projects, while telling the human stories behind the donations using our ReStories merchandising platform. And our ReStore Retail Brand Book ensured all locations delivered the same informative, engaging format. The result was a seamless brand and business strategy that celebrated what made ReStore different and made shoppers feel proud to associate with the brand.
